Tip

If you have control over the gears, always use the engine to brake instead of the actual brakes. This way you both save fuel (modern cars do not spend any gasoline when the gas pedal is not pressed and the car is not idling) and extend the brake pads and disks lifespan. When you want to stop at red light, just decrease the speed by lowering gears from early on!
